Be cold-blooded about admitting that you've taken a bath on an item. If you bought that sword for 5g, listed it for 10g, and the listing cost is 2g50s each time, after two times it had better sell just to break even. Once you hit that point, don't keep listing it over and over in desperation trying to make something off the AH. D/E it, or vendor it, and move on. Lesson learned. Don't get trapped in the fallacy of sunk costs.

Another question I am frequently asked is when should one use trade instead of the auction house. On most servers, the auction house tends to have a lot posted right after peak hours, say 1am server time. Combine this with the fact that a lot of people are just sitting in cities and not really looking to the auction house. This is where trade chat dominates the auction house. Tired players are looking for conversation to take their mind off of sleeping or boredom. If you can sell effectively, trade chat will make a greater profit then the auction house outside of peak hours. A few tips to polish those trading skills might include:
Cool the whlelping spot that has caused so much controversy int he gold farming community.  I still think spot is mentionable because it's really the only reliable spot to pull out a crimson whelping.  Most of you are probablly thinking this farm is old and beat to death, and you are right.  BUT that does not take away the fact that the whelping does drop highest from this farm.  If you can get it from the slavemasters your looking at anywhere from 25,000g and above.  A cool nifty old spot, that has survived the test of time.
Heart of Azeroth:[5] Our world is direly wounded. Players will be summoned via Magni Bronzebeard to Azeroth herself. She will gift players with a medallion called the [Heart of Azeroth]. Her life essence seeps from the world in the form of  [Azerite]. When players wearing the medallion come in contact with azerite, this sought after resource becomes a source of power for selected pieces of armor, providing players a way to level them up. This feature replaces the artifact system of World of Warcraft: Legion. Currently the plan of development is to limit the upgrade system to 3 pieces of armor. Players will be able to choose the stats they want to better fit their play-style.

What’s worse, it’s rarely satisfying when you do make it to a new milestone in your grind to unlock the gear you need. Legion had legendary items that changed the way an ability functioned, which would also completely change the way classes played; the Azerite traits in the Battle for Azeroth are rarely as interesting. Instead, they are simply passive bonuses that, in most cases, help you do more damage without any extra effort on your part. While some classes are lucky enough to have traits that change their gameplay slightly, Blizzard has so far seemed to favor nerfing those traits out of viability for most specs.

To give you some perspective I leveled both a LF Ret Paladin and BE Rogue (so one started from level 20 and the other from level 1). I focused on getting the achievements I was missing for the Loremaster, so not the most efficient route by any means. I was using full enchanted heirlooms (minus the ring) and the WoW-Pro addon though, as well as having War Mode turned on all the way.

Although you usually don't want to buy items to sell from vendor, some items can be sold for much more than you pay for them from the vendor. There are a few reasons people will buy a vendor item for a higher cost at the AH. They vendor may be hard to get to, the recipe only sells in limited stock, or the buyer simply may not know where the item is from.


The expansion brings a major change to the PvP ruleset on each realm. Every realm by default only allows players to attack NPCs in the open world; players who wish to engage in world PvP now have a setting called "War Mode" that can only be toggled on or off in their faction's capital city (i.e. Stormwind for the Alliance and Orgrimmar for the Horde). A successful transmog goldmaker like Studen farms for three hours a day on most days. They're on a near perfect server for their market, with a large number of active players with a decent amount of interest in transmog. They have thousands of unique, high value items on the auction house at any given time. To top it off, they find great enjoyment in the grind. If you can find the time, and enjoyment in farming hundreds of items from low-level dungeons each and every day, you might just be the next Studen.
4. Is there a guild waiting for you on the target server that you are satisfied with? Often times, I have transferred to a server, made a lot of gold and quit the game out of boredom because I was without a guild. Another aspect behind this question is that often times in guilds, you can get free flasks and materials to craft goods instead of spending your own gold. This will add up in the long run, whether it's free repairs or free abyss crystals. Remember, you can always send the crystals to another toon and sell them for gold as well.
Okay, speaking of pet farms this one is a really unique farm.  What we're looking for is the carrier cage : black tabby.  This is a very sought after pet for both horde and alliance – which is why its price competitively at 55,000g.  The farm takes place in Hillsbrad Foothills on a peninsula like piece of land just northwest of the yeti caves.  There will be dozens of stormpike engineers surrounding ballistas that only horde characters can kill.  However, that doesn't mean alliance polayers can't do this farm (im alliance myself).  All you need to do is to create a class trial (monk is the best) and send him over to the grinding spot.  Use the black ox statue to attract the mobs, and easily maul them down group by group.  If luck is on your side, you can make out with an awesome black tabby carrier.
The idea of the expansion came up after the heroes of Azeroth dealt with so much external threats like the Burning Legion. In their own words, "so when we talk about what's the biggest threat in this world, is it the titan or is it the dwarf paladin that put a hammer in that titan's head"? As such, the enemy (at least during the early parts of the scenario) will be the opposite faction, a "vast army of world-destroying forces".[4]

As you continue down this Horde leveling guide you will start to see that leveling via quests gets harder as the levels progress (at least until The Burning Crusade). So what we will do at level 36 (assuming you have finished all the quests) is head south to Feralas and grab the flight path at Camp Mojache (in eastern Feralas) then keep going east to Thousand Needles, then North through the Barrens until we can head east again to Dustwallow Marsh.


Before anyone asks - yes there are archived copies of old addon versions both on our github repository and on several of the addon sites we use, and these will continue to be available after Cataclysm comes out, so you'll be able to get those old files if you really want them. I'm not going to bother making these more easily accessible unless you give me a very good reason. "I'm on a private server and I need them since we didn't upgrade to Cataclysm" is a BAD reason - and it's illegal.
3. When messaging these players, it is important to remember that they too are people and are looking for emotional connections in their social lives. Having a name without mart or sell is only the first step. Do not approach them and immediately spam them with "need gold plz"! Say hello, ask them how their day is going, etc. After you establish this basic interaction, most will ask you how you are doing. The most successful phrase I have seen has been "I am doing well thanks! I am new to this game but I like the people here very much. I saw I needed to buy skills but I'm not quite sure how to make money. Would you mind helping me please?".

The information on this site is highly trusted and often sourced with Blizzard developers themselves. By knowing that an item such as infinite dust will drop 50% less, then you would know to stockpile it now while it's still abundant and then mass sell following the release of the patch. The greatest gold makers are the most informed readers! (I can not stress this point enough!).
2. Begging - Many guides will tell you begging is worthless and will not work because people get agitated. This is not entirely true if executed properly. As more players accumulate gold through Wrath and Cataclysm items and professions, the number of casual players with gold obviously increases. These casual players remember how it was to just start off and be poor. They will often donate a few gold to a sob story or a "noobie". Look for the players that are not in full epic sets of the best gear, but rather, the ones in heroic gear or worse.
The Horde levels 50-60 guide has been rewritten and revamped.  My 1-60 Horde leveling guide is now completely updated for the 1.12 Drums of War patch.  As you can see it is about 15% larger than the 40-50 guide (single largest guide page yet).  There is also a lot of route changes.  I moved the entire Silithus section from level 55 to level 58, which allowed me to include a lot more quests for that zone.  There is also a lot of other improvement to the route, including adding a lot more quests into the guide, mostly from Moonglade, Silithus and Eastern Plaguelands.  This will make the final level 59 grind much shorter.

Eventually, the Alliance finishes its preparations and launches an attack on the Zadalari capital of Dazar'zalor, their goal being to sever the budding alliance between the Zandalari and the Horde by dismantling the Golden Fleet and capturing King Rastakhan. Despite Anduin and Jaina's desire to capture him alive, Rastakhan is overwhelmed by the power of his pact with the Loa Bwonsamdi, and the Alliance champions are forced to slay him. Professions: This may seem strange for a leveling guide, but the first opportunity you get, pick up both the Mining and Herbalism gathering professions. Not only will this allow you to track many various quest objectives on your map, but you also get a fair amount of experience whenever you gather. I'd put it at around 10% of a quest turn-in per gather. Since most of your wasted time in WoW is travel time, stopping to gather ore or herbs can keep your exp/h rolling as long as you don't go too far out of your way. You should only gather if it's convenient, and on the way to an actual quest objective. Don't make gathering your priority.

If you want to spend as little time on your alt as possible - just do Legion Invasions. You can use sites like (https://wow.gameinfo.io/invasions) to track when the next invasion will be. Log in, fly to the closest world quest, and once there - right-click on the quest's name in your quest log and "Find Group". Sign up for some group, or if there's none - just start your own immediately, and people will come to you. It is 10 times faster to do invasion quests in a group. Once that particular quest is complete - leave the group, and fly to the next one, where you should find another group. Don't expect the group from one world quest to follow you to the next. Then you simply log out until next invasion. You can do 1-2 invasions a day, and each invasion will give you about a level or 1.5 of experience, if you have full heirloom gear. Each invasion will take about 20 minutes.

Each of those modes existed long before this latest expansion; raiding is a basic concept in MMOs, and Mythic+ was added in World of Warcraft’s last expansion. The problems with Battle for Azeroth’s endgame come from the systems it adds, which most often artificially gate progress where most of the fun can be found. If raids and Mythic+ are the carrot, we’re about to talk about the stick.


To achieve reliably 200% success rate, you need 1 champion equipped with Vial of Ofuscation (counter stealth missions), and the others can equip the +10% increased success rate per troop (some champions, like Falstad/Rexxar already have this passive and will stack). You want to counter the cursed status (success rate wont go over 100%) but you can skip increased time and additional costs affixes since they dont really contribute to success rate. Overall I would say that you need 1 Vial, 3 10% per troop Horns and either one 10% increased chance or one reduced duration item (it counters first strike missions). Using this setup, you will raise dramaticly your success rate which in turn will give you more rewards, but you will burn War Resources since you want to send troops to raise the success rate and we dont counter the increased costs affix most of the time. Its hard to evaluate how many missions you need in order to make-up the costs of the champion equipment, but in the long term is going to be worth.
EXCEPTION: If you are leveling trade skills while advancing, review the materials requirements of every recipe, pattern, plan, or formula that are planning on purchasing from a trainer. For example, some of the shirt patterns for tailors use very few materials and thus yield a more efficient manner of leveling the trade skill. Check profession leveling guides here on the wiki, ask a guild-mate or friend, or check out information on other web sites to help in this area. A little pre-planning and fore-thought can save you huge investment costs in the long run.

They seem to have expected some things, though, see adding pets with aquatic damage (gun and ooze) aswell as a resistant cockroach to stop us from cheesing everything with elementals. Yet, a fact their damage output is low combined with shields not checking for racial damage means this mechanic prevents a lot as you mentioned. The last boss has got an ability to remove basic shields so perhaps that was not in oblivion either… unlike the reactive damage. Also, an ability that forces swap altogether with an ability which prevents from being swapped, including critters? I can't say I like it.


I make the Sinister Combatant's Intuitive Staff (https://www.wowhead.com/spell=282343/sinister-combatants-intuitive-staff) for 20,000g and the materials are 13,000g or less. This makes a single expulsom worth 7,000g, plus or minus a few hundred due to the staff's deposit, AH cut, returns, and variance in materials. It still remains well above 5,000g and I think some people buy and resell my staves because the secondary stats matter.

Leatherworking is a crafting profession that uses various leathers obtained from skinning to craft leather and mail armor. You can make gold shuffling leather into enchanting materials through the rank 3 bracer recipes. Battlebound for Stormscale and Warhide for Stonehide Leather. The other main market for Leatherworking is crafting the item level 850 gear. I find that both Dreadleather and Gravenscale gear sells very well.
Nov 6 Good kind server to join I am looking for a good server with kind people to join. I am thinking of 1 of the new player servers or moonguard maybe ? I don't like trolls or toxicty and i don't like guilds trying to get me to raid and then get mad when we wipe 4 or 5 times. I also hope for a clean trade chat as well as fresh minds of players who are not brainwashed by the elitist attitude. Any one know of any good servers ? I been playing wow for 14 years on and off but started a new account. It's getting harder to find good people on the internet in mobile games and online PC games. At Level 38, you unlock an additional pet ability. The ability you unlock depends on the spec of your pet. Ferocity pets gain Primal Rage, which is a Bloodlust/ Heroism effect that increases the Haste of you and all party members by 30% for 40 seconds. Tenacity pets gain Survival of the Fittest which reduces you and your pet's damage taken by 20% for 6 seconds on a 3-minute cooldown. Cunning pets gain Master's Call which removes all movement-impairing effects from your pet and a friendly target, and makes them immune to movement-impairing effects for 4 seconds. The friendly target can be you. It has a 45-second cooldown.
Flipping is the least time consuming way to make gold in WoW. It simply involves trading on the auction house. You buy low and sell high. There are a lot of different markets you can try your hand in flipping both Legion and old world. Flipping works best when there are natural variations in either demand or supply for an item which will cause the price to vary over time.
Enchanting is a crafting profession that allows you to enchant gear with stat increases. It also allows you to disenchant gear for crafting materials. Enchanting uses crafting materials that can only be obtained from disenchanting gear. This means the only source is either crafting yourself or buying from other players. As the profession mostly revolves around stat increases only the legion recipes are relevant. Enchanting is also a great source of obliterum. The other ways to make gold with the profession is crafting and selling enchants and doing the enchanting shuffle.
I dont know if this exist already, if it does I couldnt find one, but it would be nice to have a guide with the location of all daily quest broken down by Alliance, Horde, Faction, Neutral, etc. I know there can be variable quest for things like Fishing and Cooking but just having the location for those quest givers would be great. If it were a stand alone addon that would be even better!
Another potion of treasure finding farm that was made extremely popular by the YouTuber Oldbess.  In this spot, you are simply to patrol the entire southen river basin in Twilight Highlands, just around the Verrall Delta area.  The goal of this farm is to kill water elementals for their volatile water, which trends around 50g per drop.  Combine this with the cloth and the treasure chests, and you have a cool  nifty farming spot – thats rarely populated these days.

My second most anticipated new feature in the Tides of Vengeance update is the Battle for Darkshore Warfront. It’s the second cyclical battle between the Horde and Alliance, in which each faction takes turns gathering resources, fighting in a pitched raid battle and then controlling the Darkshore zone. In what I hope will be an improvement to the Warfronts feature, the controlling faction will gain access to diverse world quests in the zones they control, rather than the “kill x of y” quests from when it first launched.


I do not recommend going for TBC, although I remember Hellfire peninsula to be decent, everything else is rather slow. Instead go for WotLK, Borean Thundra gets you levelled very fast, and then you can head straight for Icecrown at 67, which is also insanely fast, although admittedly has a few elite quests. You can go to Sholazar Basin alternatively. 2 zones should get you 60-80 no problem.
Guilds are perhaps one the most effective ways of progressing your character, and in turn, making money. Most 'high-end' guilds have a guild bank where members donate items for other members. This may range from potions, reagents, and craftable plans. Usually you will have to donate to a guild bank in order to receive items as well as stay active in your guild, but receiving potions that will aid your progression and craftable plans allowing you to profit off selling the products will benefit you in the long run. Also, donating to your guild bank may mean donating something you cannot use in turn receiving something you can use. Sometimes, additional services such as VoIP servers are provided and play a key role especially in end-game content; communication is paramount to a the success of an efficient group. Efficiency results in receiving gear faster, running more frequently in a shorter amount of time, and in turn making more money from runs. In a well put together guild, members become a close knit community including financial and questing support, which are among the most profitable benefits. If you have not considered joining a guild as part of your strategy moving through the game, you may wish to strongly reconsider.
Once your character makes it to Outland and beyond, cashflow frees up considerably. The quest rewards are much better than in Azeroth. In fact, a typical character will earn from 1000-1200 in quest rewards and vendor trash while leveling 60-70 in Outland, and perhaps 1400-1600 from 70-80 in Northrend. The tendency is, therefore, to spend more freely after one hits 60. However, it is important for players not to go crazy on their spending once they make it to Hellfire. One thing is, training costs, repair costs, and consumable costs are also higher. More important, there is a large purchase that you are going to want to make at some point after level 60, your first flying mount and skill. The "bird" costs 40, the skill will cost you far more. Not only that, but if you want to fly it in Northrend at level 70, you'll have to shell out another 400 for Cold Weather Flying. And for those characters who will be 'farming' herbs or ore in either Outland or Northrend, an elite flying mount is almost essential, as it helps you gather almost twice as fast. That's another 5000 you'll be looking at. Therefore, budgeting carefully during the 60-80 leveling process is essential to ensuring you have sufficient cash on hand for making those purchases. Saving your pennies early makes that bird appear that much sooner.
Azeroth paid a terrible price to end the apocalyptic march of the Legion’s crusade—but even as the world’s wounds are tended, it is the shattered trust between the Alliance and Horde that may prove hardest to mend. As the fires of war continue to roar, take the battle to both new and familiar lands with the Tides of Vengeance update, and join your allies to champion your faction’s cause.
That being said, the best place to start leveling any class will be your starting area. The first six levels can usually be completed right in the first zone. The next two to four levels can usually be completed in the next zone over. World of Warcraft is great for leading you to the next place you need to be. Once you are at least level 8 (or 10), it's time to make the trip to the Ghostlands.
Jewelcrafting is a crafting profession that revolves around gems. You prospect various ores turning them into gems and cut the gems. The cut gems can be added to socketed items. In addition you can craft rings that can either be disenchanted or sold as gearr. The Legion epic and rare gems and rings all sell very well. The jewelcrafting panther mounts are the best old world recipes.
Repetitive daily quests are a legitimate method of generating significant cashflow. Players who spend several hours a day doing daily quests can often generate 100 per hour. Many players have funded the purchase of their elite flying mounts solely through doing daily quests. Another trick for higher level players is to do level 70 dailies as a level 75-77. If you have a hankering to get a Netherdrake, for instance, and you already have a fast flying mount (which is a pre-requisite for the drake), you will find your mid-70s an ideal time to go get that drake. Not only will the quests be a lot easier to do at level 75+, but the dailies will pay about 1200 as you level rep, and you'll get XP along the way to boot (albeit not as much as quests in Northrend.) So if you're looking for a break from the grind of leveling to 80, and want to kick back, spank some level 69s and make some decent money along the way, doing lower level dailies can be a fun way to make some extra cash.

The majority of you (myself included) don't find farming fun. You don't have 20+ hours to burn each week on an activity that you find dull and mindless. Because of these things alone, you may try but you'll never be able to commit to doing this week in, week out, and this is why you'll fail. Repost after repost, without seeing success, you'll simply call it, and be just another guy who saw a transmog youtuber, tried to get into the transmog business, and quit after a day/week/month.
